Is it possible to put a 125cc on a 50cc scooter. Specifically the roughhouse 50. I have one and the engine is shot on it. I wanted to upgrade to a 125 or 150 scooter but if itās possible to just put a bigger engine I might do that. Tell me your wisdom.

So short of buying a separate 50cc frame and 125 motor and combining them or chopping two bikes up (defeating the point of trying to save money), you can't ride or insure a 125 as a 50. A restrictor won't change anything, it may be as slow as a 50 but in the eyes of the law it's still a 125 and still illegal for you to ride.

For me personally, the jump from 50cc to a 125cc is I started to wear better protective gear. I crashed on 50cc scoots a few times in college, but I was able to get up and get moving every time. On my PCX 160 (Iād say same regimes as a 125cc), I find myself in faster lanes with bigger vehicles.
