The majority of the F30's I see on the road in my area are the $299 lease specials that are 320i/328i base models (aka people buying it for the BMW brand) The problems I have had with my 335i are all outside of the engine - iDrive/camera related issues that could have easily happened on a 320i or a 328i. The engine itself has been perfect so far. Very few issues overall. I owned a 328i F30 and put 60K trouble free miles. I have 20K miles on my 2014 335i. Just a minor computer issue, a reset and no more problems. If you find a 2014, it is better to get the later build after 3/14 as this has the EWG (Electronic Waste Gate). Transmission Troubles. BMW’s 8-speed automatic transmission helps make the 328i feel responsive, but some owners experience issues with the complex gearbox: 1. Harsh Shifting. Sporadic harsh shifting is a prevalent complaint among 2013 328i owners. The transmission may exhibit abrupt and jerky shifts between gears at low speeds. BMW dealers have increased their service costs; oil changes were $75-85, now they want to charge $100's , so I've switched to independent service place where they charge $80-90. . I BOLDED your "same trouble" statement above to make a point (at your expense ;-) "NO CRANK" situations are common, but there are literally DOZENS / Hundreds of possible causes. OP had a 2007 328i built BEFORE 3/2007, which had different JB Fuse Panel & E-box Contents from your 2008. By the third visit with 2,964 miles on the clock on March 3, 2009 I had a problem with many interior cabin noises. My car could be best described as a creaky wooden boat. The dash makes creaking popping and cracking sounds. The driver and passenger side doors creak and even my seat creaks. The 3 series does OK. M40i4me. 1895 posts · Joined 2011. #5 · Mar 31, 2011. CR has the 328i as recommended with average predicted reliability and above average owner satisfaction. The G37 is above average in both categories. Owner cost is below average for the 328i and average for the G37. if you're looking for reliability, I wouldnt go for a 328i with the new turbo engine, they are nothing but problems. the 335i is a solid choice, i heard lots of the reliability issues with the older model n54 were resolved with the introduction of the 2011+ n55. my recommendation would be to look for a 2011 528i (n52 non turbo inline6) John MS. 3900 posts · Joined 2014. #5 · Apr 20, 2015 (Edited) sancheztech said: This is my second BMW F30 that I have owned and need some feedback on the Electric Power Steering Failure.
